Upstate Tops Soccer Pirates 4-0

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Aug. 30, 2026) … The Hampton Pirates women's soccer team closed out the month of August visiting former Big South Conference rival USC Upstate and dropped a 4-0 decision on Sunday night.
The host Spartans scored two goals in the first 11 minutes of the contest as Liana Bryant found the back of the net at the 3:29 mark and Katelyn Economopoulos doubled the margin to 2-0 at 10:33 of the opening half. Bryant took a feed from Annabelle Wunderlich at 38:45 for her second marker of the night and a 3-0 lead.
In the second half, Danielle Trovato found the net off a helper from Cansu Kara for a 4-0 advantage at the 57:46 mark.
On the night, Hampton put ten shots on net with two on goal with one each by Nylah Jennings and Caitlyn Peace. Sierra Bartley uncorked one from just outside the 18-yard box at 84:07 that just cleared the cross bar for another threat by the Pirates.
Hampton (0-3-1) now heads to Delaware State on Thursday for a 5 pm start in Dover, Delaware.
