Seahawks Blank Pirates In CAA Soccer Opener

NORFOLK, Va. (Sept. 20, 2026) … Three goals in nearly a six-minute span of the second half broke the CAA opener open for visiting UNCW as they defeated Hampton 6-0 on Sunday afternoon at Powhatan Field.
The first half saw the Seahawks get goals from Macy Lutz at 30:09 and Viktoria Hankova at 43:40 to take a 2-0 lead into intermission. In the second half, Ava Vaughan scored at 63:24, while Elise Larimer put in one at 66:25. Megumi Umemoto finished the scoring with a pair of goals at 69:05 and 80:09.
On the game, UNCW outshot Hampton 26-6 including 17-2 on goal. Arianna Myers recorded 11 saves.
Hampton (1-6-1, 0-1-0 CAA) will next host Drexel at noon on Thursday at Powhatan Field.
