NORFOLK, Va. (Sept. 27, 2026) … The visiting Towson Tigers scored twice in a 129 second span early in the second half and held off a second-half charge from Hampton as the Tigers took a 3-1 CAA Women's Soccer win at Powhatan Field.

Neither side found the net in the opening 45 minutes, though Hampton generated the more dangerous early chances. At 17:51, Caitlyn Peace forced a save from Towson keeper Teagan Gardner, one of two first‑half stops Gardner recorded. Towson managed three shots before the break, including a 20:13 attempt from Brooke Birrell that Arianna Myers pushed aside.

In the second half, Towson came out aggressive as they hit the post on a shot at 48:54 by Emma Levin and peppering Myers with early pressure. The breakthrough arrived at 55:31, when Meron Koro finished a combination from Zuri Johnson and Sophie Thibeault to put the Tigers ahead 1–0.

Just over two minutes later, Towson (5-4-2, 2-1-0) doubled the lead. Off a corner at 57:40, Emma Levin headed home a service from Kale'a Perry, giving the Tigers a 2–0 cushion.

Hampton (1-8-1, 0-3-0) responded with its best attacking spell of the day. After a pair of shots and a corner, Anneli Donath converted at 71:12, finishing a feed from Nylah Jennings to cut the deficit to 2–1.

Towson, however, closed the door. In the 79th minute, Thibeault capped her standout performance with a goal of her own, assisted by Caldwell and Angel Reid, restoring a two‑goal margin.

The first half saw the teams tied with three shots apiece, though the second half saw the Tigers erupt and hold a 12-4 advantage in shots.

Hampton now faces a pair of matches against teams from the Palmetto State as they visit South Carolina State for a 1 p.m. match on Wednesday and then host College of Charleston on Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. at Powhatan Field.
