HAMPTON, Va. (Feb. 19, 2026) … The Hampton University softball team will host the Battle of the Bay Tournament starting Friday morning with Maine, Quinnipiac and Saint Francis playing at the HU Softball Complex over this weekend.
Hampton (2-3) comes back home after a 2-2 showing at the HBCU Leonard Moody Invitational in Covington, Ga.
Carmynn Bonner leads the team with a .500 batting average after smashing a pair of home runs in the HBCU Invitational. Aitrihna Aiken follows with a .444 average and has a pair of pickoffs from behind the dish.
Ava Lester sports a 1.00 ERA after throwing seven innings with a career-high tying eight strikeouts against UMES.
Saint Francis sits at 0-10 on the season after dropping five games each in tournaments at USC Upstate and Cal Baptist. Aliya Garroway (.458), Morgan Pasternak (.407) and Sofia Zielinski (.400) give the Red Flash three batters hitting .400 or better. They faced Towson in the USC Upstate Tourrnament falling 11-3.
Maine has played in two tournaments and currently is 1-9. Eviana Robles leads Maine with a .296 batting average, recording eight hits – including two doubles, four runs and four RBI with Francesca Guerrera following with a .281 average and a team-leading nine hits. Alysen Rieth has thrown a team-best 26.1 innings, including two complete games, while Ava Zettlemoyer has thrown 15.0 innings.
Quinnipiac is 1-4 after playing in the UNLV Tournament to open the season. Ally Hochstadter leads the team with a .455 average going 5-for-11 with three runs scored in five games, while Natalia Apatiga follows with a .400 batting average.
