Hampton University Athletics

Holland Hall hosts the department of athletics administrative offices. The football locker room, sports performance and athletics training room are also housed in the facility. The Department of Sports Science and Wellness and faculty are located in Holland Hall. 

Opened in 1966, it replaced C.H. Williams Gym as the home of Hampton’s basketball team. The 1,850-seat Holland Hall gym was the site of Pirate basketball from 1966 until 1993 when the Convocation Center opened. 

Holland Hall also houses the Hampton University swimming pool. The pool is utilized for swimming classes and triathlon training as well as for instruction certification, wellness activities and clinics. The facility is also utilized by Hampton’s triathlon team for training. The five-lane pool includes two diving boards The facility opened in 1966 and has a seating capacity for 600 for swim events.
