HAMPTON, Va. (Sept. 1, 2025) … The Hampton University women's soccer team starts the month of September in the Windy City of Chicago as they head to face the Cougars of Chicago State for a 6 p.m. matchup on Tuesday night.
This will be the first-ever matchup against Cougars and the second against a member of the Northeast Conference this season. Hampton has already faced Howard and will tangle with Delaware State on Sunday in a rescheduled match from the season opener.
The contest will be streamed on NEC Front Row and will have live stats available.

The Pirates enter the contest after a 3-0 win on Saturday night against Bluefield State.
Jayda Sutton scored the first goal at 10:38 and
Nylah Jennings put one in off a
Keri Geter feed at 15:12 to lead 2-0 into halftime. Jennings finished off her brace with a rebound shot at 68:33 for a 3-0 margin for Hampton.
Madisyn Strange and Jennings lead Hampton with three goals apiece, while Sutton and Maddie Edozie have one each. Sutton leads the team with two assists, while Geter and
Evan-Nichole Whitaker have on apiece.

CAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Strange became the first Hampton Pirate to earn CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors in program history on Monday as she won the honor after recording the first hat-trick against a Division I opponent in program history at Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a 4-0 win on August 26. She scored all three in the second half and two of those in the span of 33 seconds to open the second half.

With the 3-0 win on Saturday against Bluefield State, head coach
Scot Vorwold won the 100
th match of his coaching career. Tuesday's match with Chicago State is the 200
th in his coaching career (100-90-9).
RARE AIR
With a win on Tuesday, Hampton will record three straight victories for the first time in program history. The consecutive shutouts last week against UAPB and Bluefield State are a first for the program.
MAKING A STATE-MENT
The Pirates cover a lot of states, literally and naming wise with their non-conference schedule this season. They'll face, Delaware (State), Chicago (State), Virginia (State), South Carolina (State) and Grambling (State).
ABOUT CHICAGO STATE
The Cougars are 1-2-2 after a 3-0 loss on Thursday at Miami of Ohio. Chicago State opened with a 6-2 loss to DePaul, tied SIU-Edwardsville 2-2, defeated Purdue-Fort Wayne 2-1 and tied Illinois-Chicago 0-0 before their last match.
Gabby Flores and Maya Dixon lead Chicago State with two goals apiece, while Flores, Tara Savage and Morgan Perry have one assist each.
Aviana Gutierrez has one clean sheet in goal and has 26 saves in five matches.
