EUGENE Or. – Senior Allina Starr had 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists to lead Hampton on Monday night as they dropped an 87-45 decision to 10
th-ranked Oregon at the Matthew Knight Arena.
After trailing 21-11 at the end of the first quarter, K'Lynn Willis hit a jumper to get Hampton to 21-13 at the 9:45 mark before Oregon went on a 20-4 run to push the lead to 41-17 on a layup by Oti Gildon with 1:26 remaining in the half.
Joining Starr in double figures was
Mikayla Sayle who had 10 points and five rebounds, all on the offensive boards. Willis added eight points and six steals, while
Ashley Bates added eight points and five rebounds.
Hampton now plays its lone home game in the 2017 portion of its schedule on Sunday at 1pm against Quinnipiac at the HU Convocation Center.
