HAMPTON, Va. – Behind six players in double figures, Hampton University scored a 117-54 men's basketball win on Wednesday night over visiting Mid-Atlantic Christian University.
Austin Colbert and
Trey Carver topped the scoring on the night with season-highs of 17 points apiece, while
Akim Mitchell had 15 and the tandem of Greg Heckstall and
Lysander Bracey added 14 each.Â
Charles Wilson-Fisher had a double-double with 10 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots, while
Jermaine Marrow just missed a double-double with eight points and a career-high 11 assists.
Hampton (4-5) hit 57.9% from the floor (44-of-76), while holding Mid-Atlantic Christian (3-7) to 18-of-64 from the floor (28.1%). The Pirates held a commanding 59-25 advantage on the glass and scored over 100 points in a game for the first time since defeating Maryland Eastern Shore on Feb. 24, 2014.
The Pirates return to action next Wednesday, Dec. 6 when they face Coastal Carolina in a 7pm tip at the HU Convocation Center.
