HAMPTON, Va. (Sept. 26, 2026) … The Hampton University women's soccer team finishes a three-match CAA homestand on Sunday afternoon hosting Towson at Powhatan Field in Norfolk at 1 pm.

ABOUT HAMPTON
- The Pirates dropped a 4-1 decision to Drexel on a very windy Thursday afternoon at Powhatan Field.
- Nylah Jennings found the back of the net off a feed from Anneli Donath with one minute left in the opening half to cut the deficit to 2-1.
- She leads the team in scoring with two goal and two assists for six points, while Caitlyn Peace and Jayda Sutton have a goal each.
- Hampton played its first match in program history against a Power Four school to open the season in a 2-1 loss at Indiana on Aug. 12.
ABOUT TOWSON
- The Tigers are on their Virginia road trip as they defeated William & Mary 2-0 on Thursday night behind a goal from Sophie Thibeault and a penalty kick goal from Kale'a Perry.
- Thibeault put them up 1-0 with a blast in the 12th minute, while Perry buried a penalty kick marker in the 78th minute.
- Perry leads the Tigers with nine points coming off four goals and one assist. Thibeault is next with two goals and two assists for six points, while Jayla Caldwell, Meron Koro and Sofia Rosenblatt each have two goals.
- Towson has split a pair of CAA matches to date losing 2-1 at Hofstra and defeating William & Mary 2-0.
- Through 10 matches, Towson has outscored their opponents 13-11 and hold a 165-96 shots advantage.
Perry and Emma Levin each scored second half goals as Towson defeated Hampton 2-0 on Sept. 18, 2025 at Towson. The Tigers held an 18-5 advantage in shots and 7-4 in corner kicks.
JENNINGS MOVING UP CAREER CHARTS
With her two goals this season, Nylah Jennings has moved into a tie for second place on the all-time goals scored with nine. She is tied with Michelle Zilberman who scored nine in 2017. The all-time leader is Sydney Jackson with 12 from 2015-18.
NEW LOOKS – BIG 10, AMERICAN and ATLANTIC 10
Hampton's opening week slate puts the Pirates in a new spot with first-ever matchups against a Big 10 member and an American Conference member. The season-opening Indiana contest was also the first time the Pirates faced a Power Four opponent in program history. The Pirates also faced American Athletic Conference member Temple and Atlantic 10 member George Mason on Sept. 13 for the first match against either conference.
HOOSIER HIGHLIGHTS
Caitlyn Peace and Nylah Jennings, two of the leading scorers from last season, were joined by newcomer Sierra Bartley for the lone Hampton tally against Indiana on Aug. 12. Jennings and Bartley assisted Peace who found the back of the net in the 71st minute in the 2-1 loss to the Hoosiers.
PIRATE POINT LEADERS
Through nine games, Nylah Jennings leads with six points including two goals and a team-best two assists. Caitlyn Peace and Jayda Sutton have the other goals, while Anneli Donath and Sierra Bartley have one assist to trail Jennings in that category.
