Box Score

ELON, N.C. (Oct. 25, 2026) … Visiting Hampton University scored a pair of goals in a span of just over four minutes of the second half but saw the homestanding Elon Phoenix answer in the 86^th minute to take a 4-2 CAA Women's Soccer victory Sunday.

A scoreless first half saw Elon (9-3-4, 4-2-2) pepper Hampton (3-13-1, 0-8-0) goalie Avery John with 10 shots on goal and John stood them all up keeping the Phoenix off the scoreboard.

For the first 10 minutes of the second half that momentum stayed as neither team could find the back of the net. Elon broke the ice scoring twice in a nine-minute span as Gabby Tirado scored off a feed by Talia Fegin at 50:07 for a 1-0 lead. Fegin was then on the receiving end of a Jenna Abousaab connector at 59:13 to push the home lead to 2-0.

Hampton cracked through at 60:36 as Aysu Unver scored her first collegiate goal to trim the deficit to 2-1. The hosts put the margin back to two goals at 64:26 when Jess Beck took a pass from Fegin and slotted it home for a 3-1 score.

The Pirates wasted no time answering that goal 18 seconds later as Caitlyn Peace uncorked one at 64:44 to pull Hampton back to one goal down 3-2.

Tirado found Isa Murdock at 85:12 who put the fourth goal in for Elon as they held on for the win.

The Phoenix outshot Hampton 19-10, which the 10 shots for Hampton matches a CAA season high. John ended up with 11 saves in the match for the Pirates.

Hampton heads down Interstate 64 on Wednesday to the Virginia Beach Sportsplex to take on Regent at 2 p.m. for their road finale of 2026.
