Mamadou Meite scored two goals and
Sebastian West added two assists as Hampton concluded its 2025 men's lacrosse season with a 28-6 loss at Stony Brook in a Coastal Athletic Association matchup on Saturday.
The six goals in the CAA game were the second most for the Pirates in program history and the most in a CAA game this season. They concluded the 2024 season by scoring eight goals at Fairfield.
Meite got his first tally as the opening goal for the Pirates at the 5:20 mark of the first period as Hampton trailed 6-1.
Tre Childers gave the Pirates their second goal almost four minutes into the second period to trail 11-2.
Hampton got the first of their two man-up goals in the game to start the second half as
Canyon Steverson was on the receiving end of West's first assist as Hampton trailed 19-3 with 13:21 left in the third period. West connected with
AJ Knox to close the third quarter scoring with 4:47 on the clock as the Pirates trailed 21-4.
Jonathan Angel scored to start the fourth period for the Pirates as he took a
Jadon Meyers pass and found the back of the net to bring Hampton to 21-5 just 43 seconds into the period. Meite closed Hampton's scoring with another blast at the 12:10 mark as Hampton trailed 22-6.
Ben Kieu made 12 saves in the first half for the Pirates and finished the season with a school record 184 saves. Hampton also set a program mark for games in a season with 15. West ended the year with 14 assists to tie for third on the all-time single season list with Pierce Johnson from 2019.
