Lacrosse Opens CAA Play Hosting 16th-Ranked Fairfield Saturday

HAMPTON, Va. (March 14, 2025) … The Hampton men's lacrosse team returns home to start a two-game homestand with its Coastal Athletic Association opener hosting 16th-ranked Fairfield at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

LAST MEETING
These teams finished the 2024 season at Armstrong Stadium and Fairfield took an 18-8 victory. Ellison Burt-Murray and Kai Talley had two goals each, while Andre Myers, Miles Fawcett, David Jackson and Sebastien West added one each. Mamadou Meite had two assists to lead the Pirates.

LAST TIME OUT
Jordan Alston scored two goals, while Tre Childers, Reed Shaw, Mamadou Meite and Canyon Steverson added one each as Hampton dropped a 19-6 decision to Bellarmine on Tuesday afternoon.

ABOUT HAMPTON
Sebastian West leads the team with three goals and seven assists for 10 points. AJ Knox leads the team in goals scored with eight and adds one assist for nine points, while Darius Stanley has four goals and four assists for eight points.

LJ Collingsworth has made 35 saves in five games in goal, while Ben Kieu has 84 in seven appearances.

Alex Lacey leads the team with 14 ground balls, and Canyon Steverson has two of Hampton's three man-up goals.

ABOUT FAIRFIELD
The Stags are the second nationally ranked team that Hampton has faced in the last two seasons. In 2024, Towson visited Armstrong Stadium as the 19th-ranked team and won 25-1.

Fairfield has four players with double digit goal totals through seven games. Devin Lampron leads with 17 goals, while Jake Gilbert is right behind with 16. Joining them with 10 apiece are Keegan Lynch and Luke Okupski. Lynch leads in assists (12) and points (22), with Lampron right behind with 20 points.

As a unit, Fairfield leads the CAA and ranks third in the nation with 7.29 goals per game allowed. The Stags have limited six of seven opponents to date to eight goals are fewer.
