HAMPTON, Va. (Dec. 28, 2025) … The Hampton University women's basketball team concludes the 2025 portion of their schedule on Monday afternoon with a 1 p.m. tip at Eastern Kentucky. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
This is a rematch of a November 25, 2024 contest at the HU Convocation Center that Eastern Kentucky won 69-55.

ABOUT HAMPTON (6-5)
The Pirates are coming off a contest that saw 11 ties and 13 lead changes as Radford slipped past Hampton 73-67 in overtime on December 18. Both teams had opportunities to win in the closing seconds of regulation, but the Highlanders turned the ball over with eight seconds left and Hampton missed a possible game-winning shot to send the game into an extra period.
Aisha Dabo had a career-best 27 points and tied her career-high with four blocked shots to lead the Pirates.
Kayla Lezama leads the team in scoring averaging 11.8 points per game, while
Kiki McElrath is next at 11.5 points per game and
Aaryn Battle follows at 9.1 points, second in rebounds at 4.5 per game, while leading in assists (45) and steals (21).
Le'Asia Foreman leads in rebounding at 7.4 per game.
As a team, the Pirates are averaging 64.9 points per game and allowing 58.2. On the boards, they trail 39.1-to-36.8 per game. From the field they are hitting 37.3 percent (264-of-708) and allowing opponents to hit 38.5 percent (242-629). The Colonels last saw action on December 20 scoring an 81-61 win over Presbyterian on the road. Five EKU players scored in double figures topped by Kenleigh Woods with 16 points.
Liz Freihofer leads the team in scoring averaging 13.7 points per game and is second in rebounding at 6.3 per game. Joseana Vaz is second in scoring at 12.8 points per game and leads in rebounding at 7.4 per game.
SWAT PATROL
Hampton has turned into the swat patrol in the paint in the last four games as the Pirates have averaged almost six blocked shots per game. Freshman
Akilah Shelton leads the team, and ranked 21
st nationally, averaging 2.1 blocks per game and has a pair of games with five blocked shots.
Aisha Dabo matched her career best with four against Radford.

Hampton will start CAA play on Friday, January 2 with a 7 p.m. tip against Stony Brook. The Pirates defeated Stony Brook twice last season, including the CAA Tournament.
