HAMPTON, Va.  (January 4, 2025) … The Hampton University women's basketball team will start their home Coastal Athletic Association slate hosting North Carolina A&T at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 5.

SERIES VS. N.C. A&T
This series dates back to both teams being in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference as Hampton holds a 28-19 lead in the all-time matchup. Since the teams left the MEAC, N.C. A&T holds a 4-2 lead. Hampton last won against the Aggies on Feb. 9, 2023 in a 66-53 decision in Greensboro, N.C.

ABOUT HAMPTON
The Lady Pirates are back on the home court after falling 71-52 to William & Mary on Friday night. Jasha Clinton scored 15 points, while CeCe Thomas added 13 for Hampton in the defeat.
Clinton leads the team in scoring (15.8 ppg) and steals (2.5 spg). Jenae Dublin is next at 9.2 points per game and a team leading 5.4 rebounds per contest. Thomas is right behind her at 9.1 points per game and second on the team in assists at 2.5 per game.
Hampton is second in the league in steals per game (10.3 spg), opponent turnovers per game (21.83), third in free throw attempts per game (19.0) and fourth in bench points per game (20.3) .
 
ABOUT N.C. A&T
The Aggies are coming off a 57-40 home win on Friday night over Elon as Jordyn Dorsey scored 19 points going 10-for-10 from the foul line to lead three in double figures for the hosts.
Dorsey leads the team in scoring (15.7 ppg), assists (3.5 apg), free throw percentage (84.5%) and in steals (20). She is joined in double figures by Paris Locke who is averaging 10.5 points and a team best 6.3 rebounds per game.
 
The Aggies are second in the league in scoring defense (55.8 ppg), three-point percentage defense (23.8%), free throw percentage (70%) and lead the league in rebounding margin (+6.3).
 
COMING UP NEXT
Hampton heads to North Carolina for a pair of games starting at Elon on Friday, January 10 at 7 p.m. They'll then visit Campbell on Sunday, January 12 at 2 p.m.
