Women's Basketball Starts Home Weekend With Towson On Friday

HAMPTON, Va.  (January 18, 2025) … Starting the second week of a two-week homestand, the Hampton women's basketball team hosts Towson on Friday night at 7 p.m. inside the Convocation Center.

SERIES VS. TOWSON
Towson holds a 4-1 lead in the all-time series and have won the last three meetings. The Tigers took a 78-65 decision on Feb. 23, 2024 over Hampton at the Convocation Center as Amyah Reaves and Le'Asia Foreman had 15 points apiece for the Pirates. Hampton's win came on February 19, 2023 in a 72-61 decision.

ABOUT HAMPTON
Hampton is back on the home floor after dropping a 59-58 decision to Drexel on Sunday. The Pirates held a 48-43 lead after three quarters, but saw a jumper with three seconds left sink a potential victory.

Jenae Dublin paced Hampton with 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds, while CeCe Thomas added 12 points and the duo of Reaves and Aisha Dabo chipped in with nine points apiece against Drexel.

Jasha Clinton leads the team in scoring averaging 14 points per game, while Thomas is next (8.1 ppg), followed by Dublin at 7.7 points and a team-best 5.2 rebounds per game and then Dabo at 7.1 ppg.

ABOUT TOWSON
Towson finished a three-game homestand on Sunday with a 79-43 win over Northeastern. In that homestand they lost to Monmouth (56-54) and N.C. A&T (61-59).

Khady Leye paced six in double figures against Northeastern with 16 points and 10 rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench. India Johnston, Deja Bristol and Caydence Hadley added 12 points apiece while Semaya Turner had 10 points in the win.

Johnston leads the Tigers in scoring averaging 12 points per game and is second on the team in assists (36), while Leye is next in scoring at 10.8 points per game and leads the team in rebounds at 7.7 per contest.

Hampton will close out this homestand on Sunday afternoon hosting UNC Wilmington at 2 p.m.
