WASHINGTON D.C. (September 6, 2024) – The Lady Pirates fell to the American Eagles 3-0 in their first out of three matches in the nation's capital. The sets ended (25-14, 25-12, 25-7).
Hampton was led by
Dila Derendeli in kills with six, followed by
Madison Clark who had four.
Morgan Warren provided 14 assists and Clark and Warren each scored an ace.

Kylah Hunter notched seven digs on the defensive side of the ball and teammate
Ada Bulgur earned six.
Cortni Adams and Warren each recorded a block.
The Lady Pirates found themselves in a 3-0 hole to start all three sets of the match. In the first and second set, they were able to rally within one multiple times, but never earned the lead (25-14, 25-12). Hampton fell behind 10-1 in the third set, and the Eagles never looked back (25-7).

The Lady Pirates will play two matches tomorrow at McDonough Arena in Georgetown. The first match will be against North Texas at 11:00 a.m. and the second against host school Georgetown at 4:00 p.m.
