HAMPTON, Va. (April 19, 2024) – Hampton's lacrosse team will face off with the Hofstra Pride tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. in Hempstead, N.Y. at James M. Shuart Stadium.
Last Saturday, the Pirates fell in a 25-2 loss against the #19 ranked Towson Tigers.
Xavier Salley found the back of the net for his fourth time this season off a pass from
Sebastian West.
Canyon Steverson scored unassisted on a man-up opportunity for his second tally of the year.
So Far This Season
Darius Stanley has recorded 10 goals this season to lead the team. Teammates
Mamadou Meite and
Miles Fawcett sit at eight and seven.
Andre Myers has earned the most assists at four. Hampton's goalkeeper is
David Sadasivam with 29 ground balls and 126 saves. Defender
Dillon Bethea has notched 13 caused turnovers and is tied for third-most per game in the CAA.
Scouting the Pride
Seth Tierney is in his 18th season as the head coach of the Hofstra Pride. Hoftra holds a 4-9 record, including a win over CAA opponent Monmouth, 8-7 in overtime. Although the Pride are 1-4 in conference, two of their losses came by just one goal.
John Madsen leads the Pride with 37 goals and is fourth in the CAA in goals per game (2.64). Griffin Turner and Rory Jones are both in the top 10 for assists per game at 1.86 and 1.00. Goalie Sean Henderson has made the second-most saves with 138.
