HAMPTON, Va. (April 13, 2024) – The Hampton Pirates lacrosse team was defeated by the #19 ranked Towson Tigers on Saturday afternoon at Armstrong Stadium.
How It Happened
The Pirates started fast by scoring the game's first goal.
Xavier Salley found the back of the net for his fourth goal of the season off a pass from
Sebastian West. West is now second on the team in assists with three.
Hampton's defense, along with goalie
David Sadasivam (five saves in the period) held Towson, the league's leading goal scorer, goalless until 2:30 remained in the first frame. The Tigers led 2-1 at the end of the first.
Towson would score 12 goals in the second to push their lead to 14-1 at the half. The Pirate's second goal came in the fourth period on a man-up opportunity.
Canyon Steverson scored unassisted at the 11:42 mark. The game ended 25-2.
Sadasivam led the team in ground balls with five. Four other players recorded at least two.
Matt Hunter and
Dillon Bethea each had two caused turnovers.
