GREENSBORO, N.C. – Hampton volleyball took on North Carolina A&T in Big South Conference action on Friday night and fell in three sets 27-25, 25-9, 25-18.
In the opening set that saw 12 ties and six lead changes, neither team held more than a three-point lead as the Aggies gained a 21-18 lead after an attack error. Hampton called a timeout and got back into the game tying it at 23 after an Aggie attack error. Ties at 24 and 25 were answered by the hosts scoring the last two points to take the first set 27-25.
Clara Smith and
Gabby Calloway had seven kills each for Hampton, while
Isis Black topped the team with five blocks. Brooke Irvin had 10 assists, while
Jessica Pugh had a match-high 11 digs.
Hampton will take on High Point Saturday afternoon at High Point at 2 pm.
