HIGH POINT, N.C. – Hampton volleyball team took on league leading High Point on Saturday afternoon and lost in three sets 25-22, 25-19, 25-20.
Madison Clark,
Clara Smith and
Gabby Calloway had seven kills apiece for Hampton. Brooke Irvin and
Julieta Campana had 13 assists each, while
Jessica Pugh added a team-high 17 digs.
Isis Black had four blocks, while Smith added three.
In the first set Hampton went on a 10-5 run to trim a deficit to 24-22 following an attack error, but High Point closed the set on the next point. Hampton held a 12-7 lead in set two following a Smith kill and kept a lead at 19-17 following another Smith kill, but the hosts ran off the last eight points for the set.
Hampton next plays at Gardner-Webb on October 15.
