HIGH POINT, N.C. – Senior
Kaylah Lupoe scored 19 points to lead three in double figures for Hampton as they fell in their Big South Quarterfinal matchup with Campbell 85-63 on Thursday night.
Hampton (16-14) trailed 14-8 after the first, but saw the Camels explode for 28 points in the second quarter. On the night, Campbell was 13-of-23 from 3-point range (56.5%) and were 31-of-58 from the field (53.4%). Entering the game Campbell was 309
th in field goal percentage in D-1 and hitting 29% from 3-point land.
With her 19 points, Lupoe joined the Lady Pirate 1,000 career point club as she now has 1,002.
Laren VanArsdale added 11 points, while
Ashley Bates scored 10 with four assists and three steals. She ends her season with a Big South record 125 steals.
ShyAnne Tuelle topped five in double figures for Campbell with 21 points going 4-of-8 from 3-point land and Caroline Bowns added 20 going 5-of-6 from behind the arc.
