HAMPTON, Va. – A cold fourth quarter that saw Hampton go scoreless in seven straight possessions proved to be the difference as the Lady Pirates dropped a 61-56 decision to Bethune-Cookman on Monday night.
Both teams were hitting over 50% from the floor throughout the first three quarters and Hampton took a 53-52 lead with 6:50 left on a
Jephany Brown 3-pointer. The rim went frozen for Hampton from there as they failed to score on seven straight possessions and missed nine of its final 10 shots from the floor.
Mikayla Sayle topped Hampton with 14 points and six rebounds, while
K'lynn Willis added 12 and five assists.Â
Hampton returns to action on Wednesday night facing Coppin State at 5 pm.
