ORANGEBURG, SC – The Hampton University women's basketball team finishes off its first southern swing of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference season taking on South Carolina State on Monday night at 5:30 pm.

Hampton is 13-9 and 7-2 in MEAC action after falling to Savannah State 55-51 on Saturday afternoon. DeJane James had 13 points and three assists, while
Chanel Green added 11 points, three assists and three steals.
Kaylah Lupoe and
Monnazjea Finney-Smith had four blocked shots apiece.
ABOUT SOUTH CAROLINA STATE
South Carolina State enters this game after losing to Norfolk State 68-53 on Saturday afternoon. Bryeasha Blair leads the team in scoring at 17.2 ppg, while Brittany Drumgoole is next at 10.7 per game. Jahmia Bradley leads them on the boards averaging just under seven per game, while Drumgoole leads in assists (46) and Blair in steals (30).
LAST TIME VS. SOUTH CAROLINA STATE
Hampton won the first matchup with South Carolina State 80-46 on Jan. 25 as DeJane' James had 17 points and six assists to lead three in double figures for Hampton.

Hampton will return home to face Howard in a 4pm start on Saturday, February 11.

The final home game of the regular season for the Lady Pirates has been bumped back an hour on the start time as the Battle of the Bay with Norfolk State will now be a 6pm start on Feb. 27.
