HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University Lady Pirates hit Interstate-64 on Saturday to have the first basketball "Battle of the Bay" as the Lady Pirates take on Norfolk State at Joseph Echols Hall on the campus of Norfolk State at 4 pm.

Hampton is 10-7 and 4-0 in MEAC action after defeating North Carolina Central 60-36 on Monday night at the HU Convocation Center. Sophomore
K'lynn Willis scored 14 points to lead a balanced scoring attack. Junior
Monnazjea Finney-Smith had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while senior
Chanel Green added nine points and five rebounds and freshman
Ashley Bates had eight points and six boards.
ABOUT NORFOLK STATE
The Spartans are 9-7 and also 4-0 in the MEAC after they knocked off Delaware State 82-74 on Monday in Dover, Delaware. Kayla Roberts topped NSU with 21 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots, while Khalilah Ali added 20 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots. The guard tandem of Jordan Strode and Dominique Harper chipped in 13 points apiece as NSU jumped out to a 47-33 halftime lead and held off a fourth quarter rally from the Hornets.
LAST TIME VS. NORFOLK STATE
Norfolk State scored a 71-66 win on Mar. 3 at Joseph Echols Hall which knocked Hampton out of a first-place finish in the MEAC standings.

Mikayla Sayle added nine off the bench for Hampton.
GIVE ME THAT — A LOT (times 2)
In the 83-52 win over Delaware State on January 14, Hampton forced 41 Delaware State turnovers and had 26 steals in the game. Those numbers are the best in the tenure of Hampton University head coach David Sox. The 26 steals are the eighth most this season in NCAA Division I action.
Two days later,
Georgianna Gilbeaux etched her name into the record books as she recorded the third highest total in a game in school history with nine steals against N.C. Central.
