HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University women's basketball team will look for its fourth straight win on Saturday, when they Lady Pirates take on South Carolina State at the HU Convocation Center at 4 p.m.
Saturday's contest will be a Pink Zone game, as part of the NCAA's effort to raise breast cancer awareness.

Quanneisha Perry (Decatur, Ga.) led the Lady Pirates with 12 points and 13 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season, while junior guard
Jericka Jenkins (Lancaster, Texas) added 11 points and eight assists.
South Carolina State (6-12, 2-6 MEAC) has lost six straight games following a 79-65 home loss to Florida A&M on Monday. Senior guard Whitney Wiley led the Lady Bulldogs with 19 points, while sophomore guard Tiara Knotts and junior center Fannie Goodwin each added 11 points.
Hampton is 22-10 all-time against South Carolina State, having won the last four meetings in the series. The Lady Pirates swept last year's meetings, winning 67-47 in Orangeburg, S.C. on Feb. 6 before beating the Lady Bulldogs 57-46 in the MEAC title game. In all, Hampton has won seven of the last eight games against SCSU. The Lady Bulldogs won the first two games in the series, including a 79-50 decision on March 10, 1978, before Hampton won seven in a row from 1997 to 2000. Hampton is 10-4 against SCSU at the HU Convocation Center.
The Lady Pirates have gone eight straight games without giving up 60 points, including back-to-back games in which they've given up a season-low 29 points against Delaware State and Maryland Eastern Shore. Hampton is giving up just 42.9 points per game in that span, compiling a 7-1 record, and the Lady Pirates lead the MEAC in scoring defense, allowing just 53.0 points a contest this season. Hampton is also first in the MEAC in field goal percentage defense, holding teams to 36.1 percent shooting.
The Lady Bulldogs went 14-19 last season, finishing eighth in the MEAC with a 5-11 record before upsetting North Carolina A&T to open the MEAC Tournament and advance all the way to the championship game before falling to Hampton. SCSU returns four starters and 11 letterwinners from last year's squad, and has been picked to finish sixth in the MEAC.
Wiley, a Preseason First Team All-MEAC selection, is leading SCSU in scoring so far this season with 11.4 points per game, while Goodwin is pulling down a team-high 6.1 rebounds per contest. Wiley is the only Lady Bulldog averaging double figures in scoring.
SCSU is scoring just 55.1 points per contest, while giving up 62.2 points per game.
After beating Maryland Eastern Shore 47-29 on Monday, the Lady Pirates are 7-2 at the HU Convocation Center so far this season. The Lady Pirates were 10-3 at the HU Convocation Center last season, winning their last seven home contests. Hampton went 7-1 at home in MEAC games last season, and Six is 17-5 in his career as a head coach at home.
