The Lady Pirates (5-9, 1-2 MEAC) snapped a two-game losing streak in convincing fashion, sprinting out to a 15-4 lead to open the game. Jericka Jenkins (Lancaster, Texas) went 5-for-9 from 3-point range in the opening half, pouring in 17 first-half points to lead Hampton to a 46-14 halftime lead.

Quanneisha Perry (Decatur, Ga.) hit a layup with 1:38 left in the first half to give Hampton a 32-point lead, and a Bernadette Fortune (Virginia Beach, Va.) jumper with 17 seconds left in the half would put Hampton up by that same margin at the break.

Hampton led by as many as 40, going up 62-22 with 9:46 to play when Fortune sank a layup.

Jenkins led the Lady Pirates with a season-high 22 points on 7-for-14 shooting, going 6-for-11 from behind the arc. Perry recorded her third double-double of the season, scoring a career-high 21 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Freshman Breanna Jones (Springfield, Va.) led the Lady Pirates on the boards, tying her season high with 15.

Fortune added 12 points for Hampton.

The Lady Pirates shot 39.4 percent (28-for-71) from the floor, hitting six of their 14 3-point attempts. Hampton also went 12-for-16 from the free throw line, turned the ball over just 11 times and forced Morgan State into a season-high 27 turnovers.

The Lady Pirates scored 34 points off those turnovers. Hampton also held a 46-43 rebounding edge.

Hampton held Corin Adams, the Preseason MEAC Player of the Year, to just nine points to lead Morgan State (5-9, 2-1 MEAC). Kristina Rosario led the Lady Bears with 14 rebounds.
