FARMVILLE, Va. (Sept. 6, 2026) … A Madison Fitzpatrick goal at the 42:12 mark of the first half provided the lone tally on Sunday evening as Hampton dropped a 1-0 decision at Longwood at the Longwood Athletic Complex.

Longwood (3-3-1) held a 5-1 advantage in shots in the opening 45 minutes, but the Pirates kept the Lancers off the board until the 42^nd minute. Phoebe Ganion and Reese Coggeshall put the ball in and found Fitzpatrick who gave the hosts the 1-0 lead at 42:12.

Jackie Jenkins made three saves in goal in the opening 45 minutes for Hampton. The Pirates held a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks in the first half and ended 7-6.

Longwood finished with a 14-3 margin in shots as the Lancers had nine of the 11 total shots in the final 45 minutnes.

Hampton now finishes this five-game road swing on September 13 at George Mason in a 1 pm kick.
