Second Half Start Dooms Pirates In 3-0 Loss At George Mason

FAIRFAX, Va. (Sept. 13, 2026) … After a scoreless first half, homestanding George Mason put up three goals in the first nine minutes of the second half and took a 3-0 win over Hampton in women's soccer action on Sunday afternoon.
Abigail Merchant put George Mason (4-2-2) on the board 32 seconds into the second half as she put in a header attempt from Gianna Chrapek. They doubled the advantage at 50:55 when Mia Casciani found the back of the net to push the lead to 2-0. At 54:26, Casciana fed Kylie Beauregard for a one-timer that gave the hosts the 3-0 advantage.
In the opening half, Hampton (1-5-1) pushed the pace and controlled action putting eight shots up forcing starting goalkeeper Libby Davy to record five saves. They also had set-piece opportunities as they had the only six corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes. For the game, George Mason outshot Hampton 15-10. Arianna Myers made five saves in goal in her Pirates debut.
Hampton now returns home to face UNCW on September 20 at 1 pm at Powhatan Field in Norfolk.
