HAMPTON, Va. (Sept. 23, 2026) … The Hampton University volleyball team is set to host their first CAA match inside of the Convocation Center in the schools history Thursday night. The Pirates will place host to Elon Thursday and Friday in a two-match series with the Phoenix.Â
ABOUT HAMPTON:
- The Pirates enter the weekend with a record of 2-9, as they dropped two matches last weekend to Hofstra.
- Racquel Frazier has hit the 100 kills mark with 123 through just 11 games, while Katerina Pappa (98) and Nikola Jaroszewicz (87) to round out the top three. Frazier ranks ninth in the CAA in kills, while also being ninth in points with 146.
- Ana Luiza Caminha Matos leads the Pirates in assists on the season with 244, ranking sixth in the CAA, while Belen Ferrufino adds 61.
- Lillian Campbell has 23.0 blocks on the season, leading Hampton, while Jaroszewicz (18.0), Aliyah Milner (12.0), Racquel Frazier (11.0) and Janiah Robinson (10.0)join Campbell with double-digit blocks.
- Hampton has played a five set match three times in 2026 after doing so just once in 2025.
- The Pirates currently rank third in the CAA in service aces.Â
ABOUT ELON:
- The Phoenix enters the weekend with a record of 3-9 with wins over Old Dominion, Robert Morris and USC Upstate. They travel to Hampton after dropping their first two CAA home games to Charleston last weekend.Â
- Catherine Rucker was a Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention honoree ahead of the 2026 season after recording 131 kills and 63.0 blocks a year ago. in 2026 she is third on the team in kills with 66 while adding 37.0 blocks.Â
- Cameron Lanier ranks second in the CAA with 158 kills on the season. Anna Sewell has also surpassed the 100-kill mark on the year with 111.Â
- Casey Brower ranks third in the conference with 132 digs defensively.Â

Elon leads the all-time series over Hampton 14-1, winning both matches in 2025.Â

BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL:
Raquel Frazier leads the team in kills with 123, while also holding a team best 73 digs. She is currently on pace to set new career highs in both as she holds a 3.15 k/s and 1.87 d/s while last season she posted a 2.67 kills per set and 1.23 digs per set.
DROPPING DIMES:
Ana Luiza Caminha Matos has 244 assists on the season with an average of 7.18 assists per set. That is the highest average assist per set average since 2018 when Lena Reed-Petracek averaged 7.76 per set.
BLOCK PARTY
The duo of Lillian Campbell (23.0) and Nikola Jaroszewicz (18.0) lead the Pirates in blocks, as Campbell is on pace to lead Hampton in blocks for a second straight season. She is on pace to set a new career high in blocks after registering 50.0 as a freshman in 2025.Â
UP NEXT
The Pirates return to action Wednesday, Sept. 30 when they host local rival Norfolk State. The match is set for 6 p.m.
