Carmynn Bonner was named on Tuesday to the CAA Preseason Honorable Mention All-Conference team as announced by the league office.
Bonner finished in the top eight in the CAA in seven different categories last season including triples (7), doubles (13), batting average (.385), slugging percentage (.654) and hits (60). The Dayton, Ohio native ended the year ranked ninth nationally in triples and eighth in triples per game. Her seven triples tied the school record for triples in a season.
She had 18 multi-hit games, eight multi-RBI games, an 11-game consecutive hit streak and reached base in 11 straight games. Bonner was 4-for-4 with four RBIs against Grambling State and also drove in four runs against Delaware. She had three hits against Rust, Mt. St. Mary's, Towson and UMES.
Stony Brook and Elon were predicted to win the North and South Divisions respectively as the Phoenix won the 2025 CAA Championship. Madison Biddle of UNCW was named CAA Preseason Player of the Year.
Hampton opens its 2026 season on Feb. 6-7 with the 1868 Classic at the HU Softball Stadium.
