Hampton University Sailing Places 13th at America Trophy

ITHACA, N.Y. (April 20, 2025) … The Hampton University sailing team finished 13th at the America Trophy.

This weekend's regatta was also the MAISA Conference Championships. The field consisted of 18 different institutions. While Hampton was tied with Christopher Newport on points, the Pirates had more high-place finishes. Coach Alessandro Ambrosi's side finished only six points behind Penn State. Georgetown, Navy, and the hosts Cornell, rounded out the top three.

Hampton's A team consisted of Tyler Brown and Chloe Anderson. Jackson Manley would also compete with Brown during races two, three, and four. The duo of Brown and Anderson recorded two top-five finishes. Their best finish of the day came during the first race where the pair finished fourth.

The Pirates' B unit was Stefano Palamara and Kiara-Lee Wright. Tommaso Ciaglia competed with Palamara from races two through eight. Hampton's B team finished 12th out of the competitive 18-team field.
