HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (September 27, 2024) – The Lady Pirates dropped their first match against the Hofstra Pride in three sets on Friday evening. The sets ended 25-12, 25-15, and 25-16.
Madison Clark led the Lady Pirates with six kills and teammate
Maria Clara De Andrade had five.
Ida Wiszomirska tallied 15 assists.

Cortni Adams earned two blocks, while
Brooklynn Patterson and Clark each had one.
Hampton fell behind 8-2 in the first set and were unable to recover (25-12). Five Lady Pirates recorded a kill. The Lady Pirates trailed 4-1 in the second set but rallied to only trail by one at 5-4. An 8-1 run by the Pride put the set out of reach. Wiszomirska posted four digs.
In the third set, both teams fought back and forth for points. While Hofstra led at 6-4, Hampton scored six of the next seven and jumped ahead by two 9-7. Each squad took a couple of points as Hampton held a 14-12 advantage. Hofstra won the next nine points and claimed the set 25-16. Five Lady Pirates recorded a dig including three athletes that earned multiple.
