HAMPTON, Va. (September 20, 2024) – The Lady Pirates fell in their match against the North Carolina A&T Aggies by a score of 3-0 in their first match at home this season. The sets ended 25-14, 25-10, and 25-16.
Cortni Adams led Hampton in kills with five, followed by
Dila Derendeli at four.
Ida Wiszomirska notched a career-high 14 assists.
Derendeli earned her career-high in digs with nine, and teammate
Kylah Hunter tallied eight. Adams and
Lyrique Alteus each posted two blocks.
Hampton jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first set, but the score was tied at seven. The Aggies took five out of the next six points to build their lead to 12-8 and claimed the set at 25-14. The Lady Pirates fell behind 9-0 at the beginning of the second set and were unable to come back (25-10). The third set started with each team grabbing two points. North Carolina A&T used a four-point to go ahead 9-4. Hampton brought the score within four at 17-13, but could not get closer.
