Greensboro, N.C. (Sept. 24, 2023) The Lady Pirates lost to the North Carolina A&T Aggies today in straight sets (12-25, 10-25, 14-25).

Madison Clark and
Rhisen Davis led the Lady Pirates in kills with five each.
Kalyn Pierre took up setting responsibilities for the first time this season set a season-high with nine assists.
Rickelle Wescott added another block to put her total to 10 on the season.

Kylah Hunter tallied seven digs while
Madison Clark had six of her own.
Cortni Adams and
Rhisen Davis posted two block each and Clark and Wescott had one.

Set 1
Â
The first set was kicked-off by a block by Adams and Davis to put the score at 1-1. A few points later Clark and Adams rallied for another block. The Aggies went on a 13-2 run that put the set out of reach (12-25).

The second set started out poorly for the Lady Pirates as they fell to a 3-0 deficit.
Maria Eduarda Rodrigues and
Madison Clark smashed a kill to bring the score to 3-6. The Aggies went on an 11-1 run and Hampton was not able to string together two points in-a-row throughout the set. It ended 10-25.

The Lady Pirates jumped out to an early lead at 4-2 thanks to kills by Pierre, Wescott and Clark along with an ace from Wescott. Despite Hampton leading at 5-4 and then tied at 6-6. The Aggies pulled away and took the final set (14-25).

The Lady Pirates will face the William and Mary Tribe next weekend on Saturday and Sunday in Holland Hall at 1 PM.
