Box Score Hampton, VA – A strong first inning by Hampton Softball positioned the Pirates to claim a 2-0 victory over North Carolina A & T today in the first of their two-day series.

How It Happened:

• With bases loaded at the bottom of the first inning, the Pirates Senior Kiaya Jeusi's (Woodbridge, VA) nailed a hit sending Junior Mo'Ne Davis (Philadelphia, PA) home to put the Pirates on the scoreboard first. (1-0)
• The Pirates continued to load bases, and an error on first base allowed senior Janae Lyles (Waldorf, MD) to score an unearned run. (2-0)
• Kayla Douglas got the loss in the circle for the Aggies. Senior Emily Workman (Kingston, TN) led the Pirates to victory with fast pitching and quick outs.
• Senior duo Casey Walker (Bristow, VA) and Jeusi were a huge defensive presence in today's win that held the aggies scoreless. 

The Pirates return to action at home on Saturday April 16, at noon and 2 PM against North Carolina A&T.
