CLINTON, S.C. – Pirates lose the lead late, dropping their final game of the series at Presbyterian, 9-8 on Sunday.

Final Score: Hampton 8 – Presbyterian 9
How It Happened:
- Both teams were held scoreless in the first inning, however, the scoring would come fast and often in the second inning, with Presbyterian posting three runs and Hampton posting two runs in the top and bottom half innings
- Presbyterian would tack on another run via a sacrifice flyout in the bottom of the third, putting them ahead 4-2
- The Pirates scored six runs in the top of the fourth behind two-RBI singles from both Mo'ne Davis and Kiaya Jeusi. Janae Lyles and Emily Kepple also provided RBIs to help propel them to an 8-4 lead.
- Presbyterian trimmed the deficit to just two runs following a two-run homerun in the bottom of the fourth inning
- After a scoreless fifth inning from both sides, Presbyterian stormed back to score three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure the win
The Pirates return home to play a double-header against Winthrop University on Friday, March 25th at 1 PM and 3 PM.
