WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Hampton women's soccer team opened Big South Conference action on Saturday night with a scoreless draw against Presbyterian College at Wanner Stadium.
Each team had several flurries that nearly resulted in goals, including a couple shots each that bounced off the posts. The tie marked the second time in three Big South seasons that Hampton has opened conference play with a tie. In its first season they tied High Point in the conference opener of 2018.
Presbyterian outshot Hampton 14-13, while Hampton held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks. Freshman
Payton Hart, making her collegiate debut in goal, made five saves in the shutout.
Hampton now visits USC Upstate on Wednesday night before hosting UNC Asheville on Saturday night back at Wanner Stadium.
