CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Hampton volleyball team dropped a four set match to Charleston Southern on Saturday winning the opening set 28-26 before the Buccaneers won the last three 25-15, 25-19, 25-23.
In the first set that saw 15 ties and seven changes, a kill by Brooke Monsen put the hosts up 26-25.  Hampton used kills by
Gabby Calloway,
Clara Smith and
Sasha Saric gave Hampton the opening set.
The final set saw 16 ties and five lead changes as a Monson kill put Charleston Southern up 23-20. Hampton scored the next three to tie the match before the hosts had consecutive kills by Monson to end the match.
Calloway topped Hampton with 22 kills and nine digs, while
Sydney Sumner had nine kills and six digs.Â
Jessica Pugh added 16 digs, while
Lena Reed-Petracek had 36 assists.
Hampton now visits Campbell on October 26 for a 2pm start.
