IN BRIEF: On a humid Wednesday afternoon, Gabi Paupst and Reese Degnan each scored a goal as Radford defeated the Lady Pirates 2-0 in a Big South contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Paupst launch a rocket from 20 yards out and into the back of the net, to score first for the Highlanders as they took a 1-0 lead within the first eight minutes of action.
- With an assist from Emily Dunn, Degnan bangs in a header during a scramble in front of the cage to give Radford a 2-0 advantage at the 38:25 mark in the first half.
BEHIND THE NUMBERS
- Hampton was outshot 28-6 by the Highlanders.
- Radford held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
- Maya Andrews made 12 saves for Hampton in goal.
- Radford entered the game leading the Big South having won eight of its last nine games
