HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University men's lacrosse team will open their 2017 schedule on Friday afternoon hosting Roberts Wesleyan College at 2 pm inside Armstrong Stadium. This will be the first of three straight home games to start the season for Hampton.
These teams opened the 2016 season on a chilly Saturday, Feb. 13 as the Redhawks scored a 20-3 win in the inaugural varsity contest for Hampton.
Hampton returns three of its top four goal scorers from 2016 as sophomore
Kendall Sapp topped the team in scoring with six goals and three assists in five games. Senior
Darrel Kidd had four goals and three assists, while sophomore
Leo Jackson, III added four goals.
The Redhawks are headed by sophomore Brady Martin who had 12 goals and 12 assists last year. In goal, senior Keith Keehn will be a force for Roberts Wesleyan.
After Friday, the team will return to action at 2pm on Saturday, Feb. 25 when they host the University of District of Columbia at 2 pm.
