HAMPTON, Va. (Apr. 17, 2026) … The Hampton University lacrosse team returns to action Saturday when they travel to Hofstra for their final away game of the season.

Hofstra won last year's meeting 27-4. Canyon Steverson scored in that game for the Pirates.
ABOUT HAMPTON
Freshman Anthony Bardonille, Jr. leads the Pirates with 26 goals on the season, while Maliik Wood (23) and Darius Stanley (12) each have 10 goals or more on the year. Wood leads the team with 10 assists, while Bardonille Jr. and James Greene have each added nine. Hampton has scored 93 goals on the season with two games to go, after scoring just 72 a season ago. 13 Pirates have netted a goal on the season, as 10 have added two or more on the season.
In the net, Hampton is led by Miles Lancaster's 159 saves on the season, as he comes off a 21 save performance against nationally ranked Towson last game. He currently bolsters a .440 save percentage on the season. Edward Johnson has played in three games this season, saving 21 goals at a .600 percentage. On defense, Judah Johnson-Nixon leads the Pirates with 11 caused turnovers on the season, while Amare Ford and Ayron Norton each have seven. Ford scored his first career goal earlier in the season against Drexel.
Bardonille Jr. is tied for second in the nation among all freshman with 26 goals and is tied for most goals in a single season in Hampton history. Wood ranks tied for third for single season goals at 23.
ABOUT HOFSTRA
The Pride currently sport a 3-9 record this season with a 1-3 conference record. Their lone CAA win came against Fairfield 13-6. They are led by Trevor Natalie's 25 goals, while Anthony Mollica has registered 19 goals to go along with 16 assists.
Shea Kennedy has recorded 136 saves on the season, while currently holding a .498 save percentage. He has started all 12 games on the season. Blake Cooling leads the Pride's defense, as he has 26 caused turnovers on the season with 55 ground balls.
CHASING HISTORY
Freshman Anthony Bardonille Jr. is looking to become Hampton's record holder for goals scored in a season as he is currently tied for first with 26. He has been named CAA Rookie of the Week two times this season, and is also looking to become the second Pirate in the school's history to earn an All-Rookie Team nod, as Alex Lacey was selected to the team in 2025. No Pirates has ever been selected as the leagues Rookie of the Year.
CONSISTENTLY SCORING
Hampton has scored seven goals or more in eight of the team's 11 games this season. The Pirates only accomplished that feat twice a season ago.
FIRST-YEAR LEAP
Vincent Culpepper is leading the Pirates to massive leaps in year one. Hampton is currently averaging 8.45 goals per game after just 4.80 a season ago. The Pirates currently rank second in the league in man-up goals per game at 1.09.
