HAMPTON, VA. -- The Hampton University volleyball team will close out its non-conference slate this weekend as they visit Fairfax, Va. for the George Mason Invitational at the Patriot Center.
Hampton will open the event on Friday afternoon taking on Loyola (MD) University at 4:30 pm. Loyola won the only other meeting between the schools in 2004 with a 3-0 victory.  On Saturday, the Lady Pirates start play against the host Patriots at 2 pm in the first-ever meeting with George Mason in volleyball. They'll close out action against Bryant University at 4:30 pm. Each team has won once in previous meetings with Hampton winning the last one 3-1 in 2013.
Reeana Richardson leads the team in kills (73), service aces (6) and digs (46) through eight matches. Â
Kyndall Nicholas, coming off an All-Tournament performance last weekend at the Spartan-Aggie Invitational, leads the team in blocks (21) with
Lena Washington (19) and
Micah Leavell (18) right behind. Â
Brianna Lilly leads the team with 186 assists.

The Lady Pirates will start Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action next Friday, Sept. 23 when they visit Morgan State for a 6 pm match. They'll finish a weekend in Baltimore on Sept. 25 facing Coppin State at 3 pm.
