LACROSSE TOPPLED BY WAGNER IN NEUTRAL-SITE GAME

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.. – The Hampton University men's lacrosse team ventured to Charlottesville to take on Wagner University and fell 18-4 on Thursday afternoon. 

Four different Pirates scored in the contest, as Alexander Hudson had a goal and an assist to lead Hampton (0-3).

Wagner (4-3) started the game scoring the first 10 goals, as Billy Martin and Andrew Streilein scored two goals apiece in the run. Streilein's second one off a John Norton feed with 3:14 left in the first half put the Seahawks up 10-0.

Hampton closed the half by scoring three goals in the span of 2:08 to get the Pirates in the contest. Kendall Sapp took a feed from Darrel Kidd with 2:29 left in the quarter for the first goal. Hudson scored his goal 70 seconds later unassisted to get Hampton trailing 10-2. Leo Jackson, III caught a feed from Hudson with 11 seconds left to close the first half down 10-3.

After scoring the only goal of the third quarter, Wagner put six more on the board in the fourth before Julian Edwards took a pass from Jordan Ellis and blasted in the final goal of the day for Hampton with 2:51 left to trail 17-4.

Hampton now returns to play its final home game of the season on Saturday when they face Ohio Valley University at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 19.
