Women's Tennis Closes Out CNU Duals

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Sept. 14, 2026) … The Hampton University women's tennis team opened its season in the CNU Duals over the weekend at Christopher Newport.
The Pirates began their competition Friday when they took on the host, earning a decisive 5-2 win. The Captains earned the point in doubles after winning at the one and two spot, but it was Hampton taking five of six singles matches. Samira Khazieva earned a win in the one spot, while Serena Bryan, Toffee Ghorab, Tanya Midzi and Melissa Sakiroglu all won their matches.

After weather altered the weekend schedule, the Pirates wrapped up competition on Sunday when they took on Longwood. The Pirates won both doubles matches when the duos of Midzi / Ghorab defeated Shoybek / Miettinen (6-4) while Mitic / Khaieva took down Eijkelenburg / Magia (7-5). The Lancers then won all five singles matches over the Pirates.
