ELON, N.C. (May 16, 2026) … The Hampton University men's track and field team finished fourth at the 2026 CAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday amassing 111.66 points.
N.C. A&T won the team title with 184.33 points, with Northeastern (155) and William & Mary (115) finishing ahead of the Pirates.
Hampton came away with one championship in the 4x400 relay as
Daniel Danner,
Ethan Moody,
Jason Woods and
Jayden Poteat captured that race in 3:08.42.
Poteat also added a second place in a personal best time in the 400 meters running 45.97 and was seventh in the 200 meters running 22.98.
Delano Lawrence was second in the discus with a toss of 52.63m (172-8), while
Mohammed Al-YaFee was second in the 800 meters in a personal best of 1:49.64.
Hampton came out with 15 points in the triple jump as
Ellis Branch was third in 14.98m (49-1.75),
Marquis White was fourth in 14.92m (48-11.5) and
Joseph Ernest was fifth in 14.79m (48-6.25).
