PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 25, 2026) … The Hampton University track and field teams competed this weekend in the prestigious Penn Relays and came out with six top 10 finishes.
The women's 4x800 team of
Avah Savage,
Nia Warren,
Mekayla Wilson and
Kylee King broke a 14-year old school record running 8:50.85 bettering the mark of 8:58.35 in 2012.
Marquis White had the best finish for Hampton as in the long jump as he cleared 7.17m (23-6.25) to take sixth place.
Joseph Ernest had a pair of 10
th place finishes also in the long jump with a leap of 6.79m (22-3.5) and in the triple jump with a leap of 14.82m (48-7.5).
The men's 4x400 relay team consisting of
Daniel Danner,
Ethan Moody,
Jason Woods,
Jayden Poteat took 10
th in the Championship of America running 3:07.87, while
Yashahya Brown was 10
th in the 100 hurdles in 14.10.
In the women's 4x200 Championship of America relay, Hampton was eighth in 1:36.33. Running were:
Brianna Charles,
Nyla Felton,
Morgan Pruitt,
DeAuna Louis.
Hampton will run next weekend in the Aggie Classic in Greensboro, N.C.
