TAMPA, Fla. (Mar. 22, 2026) … The Hampton University outdoor track and field teams opened their seasons by competing in the University of South Florida Alumni Invitational and came out with a few good marks to begin the season.
In the women's 200 meters,
Brianna Charles took fifth in 23.61. The women's 100 meter hurdles saw
Carmen PenaSoto finish 15th in 13.82.
In the women's 4x100 relay, Hampton came out with an eighth and 13th place finish. The quartet of
Brianna Charles, Nyla Felton,
Morgan Pruitt, Zoe Ledet took eighth in 45.28. The grouping of
Kenidi Johnson,
DeAuna Louis,
Madison Hardrick,
Sophia Cormier took 13th in 46.58.
The women's 4x400 relay saw Hampton take a ninth and 11th place finish. The grouping of
Arriah Gilmer,
Brianna Charles,
Morgan Pruitt, Nyla Felton took ninth in 3:46.22. Finishing in 11th were
Carmen PenaSoto,
DeAuna Louis, Zoe Ledet,
Sophia Cormier in 3:48.62.
On the men's side,
Ethan Moody finished 18th in the 400 meters in 47.53. In the 4x100, the group of
Jayden Poteat,
Khari Barnes,
Jaden Clark,
Ethan Moody took sixth in 40.19.
Both teams will head to East Carolina next weekend for their next meet.
