NORFOLK, Va. (Feb. 17, 2026) … The Hampton University women's tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 match against Norfolk St. Wednesday in the Battle of the Bay. 

The Pirates saw Chelsea Chakanyuka and Toffee Ghorab secured a win in doubles, but ultimately it was the Pirates falling behind early 1-0 after the Spartans took the team point. 

In singles, Ghorab defeated Norfolk St.'s Ines Sabadie 6-3, 6-1 to give Hampton their first point. Chakanyuka and Melis Sakiroglu eventually earned wins for the Pirates in singles, but ultimately the point on No. 5 earned Norfolk St. the deciding point to take down Hampton.
