HAMPTON, Va. (Feb. 2, 2026) … The Hampton University lacrosse team returns to action Saturday afternoon when they host Detroit Mercy for their first home game of the 2026 season.
Hampton dropped game two of the season 8-22 to NJIT Tuesday. Darius Stanley netted a hat trick on the afternoon to lead the Pirates.

Detroit Mercy won the only contest between the two last season 11-5.
ABOUT HAMPTON
Stanley leads the Pirates through two games in goals with five, while freshman Anthony Bardonile Jr. has netted four of his own while also leading the team in assists with four. Maliik Wood and Reed Shaw have also scored three goals each for the Pirates.
In the net, Hampton is led by Miles Lancaster's 37 saves on the season, where he currently holds a .514 save percentage. Edward Johnson has also saved 12 shots in his lone apperance on the season.
ABOUT DETROIT MERCY
The Highlanders began their season with back-to-back losses to Big10 opponents. Most recently they lost to #18 Michigan 11-7.
The Titans are led by Andrew Parker's four goals on the season, while Marcus Thundercloud and PJ O'Hanion have each netted two. Cooper St. Clair has played both games for Detroit Mercey in the net, recording 24 saves, a .444 save percentage. Last season, Detroit Mercey posted a 6-7 record.
