NORFOLK, Va. (Sept. 6, 2025) … The Pirates began their 2025 campaign this weekend under first year head coach Makalynne Dyer at the Riley Cup hosted by Old Dominion. Hampton posted an 11th place finish in a competitive 16 team field. 

The Pirates A Division consisted of skipper Tyler Brown and crew of Micah Brandel, Kera Beckles, Jackson Manley and Kiara-Lee Wright. The division posted a final score of 113 while adding a top five finish in the 10th regatta. 

Hampton University's B Division led by skipper Ivet Bejar and a crew of Chloe Anderson and Jackson Manley recorded a score of 128. The group put together three top five finishes in the race.
